Onkar S Kanwar is the Chairman of Apollo Tyres Ltd, India’s largest automotive tyre manufacturer. As a visionary entrepreneur, he plays a pivotal role in the company’s operations and the articulation of its business philosophy.

Innovation, quality and exclusivity are his guiding principles, which have steered Apollo Tyres to become a leader in the Indian market by implementing a number of pioneering initiatives in the spheres of product, marketing, R&D and manufacturing. Registered in 1976, Apollo Tyres under his leadership transformed itself from an Indian tyremanufacturer of commercial vehicle tyresto a global entity with a full-fledged product portfolio, spanning 3 continents.

Onkar Kanwar also has business interests in healthcare services. The first state-of-the-art, super specialty hospital, Artemis Health Institute, has been established in Gurgaon, India. Artemis Health Institute is looking to redefine customer care and facilitation by using the latest technology, under some of the best doctors, to enable faster disease identification and cure.

As a business leader, Onkar Kanwar has been closely associated with leading national and international industryorganisations. He is a Past President of FICCI & ICC India, a former Director with the India’s ECGC and KSIC, and former Chairman of ATMA.

An initiative close to his heart is Apollo Tyres’ HIV-AIDS awareness and prevention programme for the trucking community, implemented through Health Centres located in large trans-shipment hubs across India. A science and administration graduate from the University of California, Onkar Kanwar lives in New Delhi. He has two sons and a daughter. A widely traveled individual, with an ear for Indian and Western classical music, he is also a keen student of modern management practices and their successful application in business.

 

Tapan Mitra
CEO, Artemis Health Institute
Chief, Human Resources, Apollo Tyres Ltd

As the CEO, Tapan Mitra is responsible for the overall functioning of the hospital. He oversees all day-to-day functions as well as provides guidance for future growth. He is also the Chief of Human Resources at Apollo TyresLtd.

Prior to 2005, when he joined Apollo Tyres, Tapan Mitra was with Ballarpur Industries Ltd (BILT), where he was Vice President, People Development and Communications. He began his career as a management trainee with JK Papers in 1977, moving on to Voltas Ltd and then to BILT. He has worked both at the plant and corporate HR in these organisations. International exposure with institutions like INSEAD, IMD, Centre for Creative Leadership, and Saville-Holdsworth Ltd, have further complemented his in-depth functional knowledge.

Schooled in St Xaviers Delhi, Tapan Mitra is a Delhi University Gold Medalist and National Scholarship holder and has a post graduate degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. He is actively associated with HR platforms at CII, National HRD Network, All India Management Association, National Institute of Personnel Management, ASSOCHAM and the Conference Board, apart from being a guest faculty in leading management institutes.

An ardent photographer, he enjoys reading and listening to western music. He believes that a true “people’s manager” needs to be adept at handling inter-personal relationships and be able to communicate with clarity acrossorganisational hierarchies. Equally important is the ability to address employee concerns in a proactive manner.

Dr. Devlina Chakravarty
MD, DNB, DMRD, Radiology
Chief Operating Officer & Director Medical Services, Artemis Health Institute
 

As the Chief Operating Officer, Dr Chakravarty is responsible for all aspects of the functioning of the hospital, including future plans and expansions. As the Director of Medical Services, she oversees medical diagnostics and image guided interventions, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy in diagnosis and care for the patients.

Prior to this Dr Chakravarty was the Head of the Radiology team as Max Healthcare in Delhi between 2000 and 2007 and a Consultant at Apollo Hospital, Delhi for 4 years previous to this.

Dr Devlina Chakravarty has specialised in Diagnostic Radiology, with special interest in Neuro, Ortho, Cardiac and Breast Imaging and in image-guided interventions. She received her MD, DNB, DMRD from the University of Mumbai. Post which she has trainied in all aspects of high-end imaging in India and abroad, having done her Perceptorship from the University of California LA, USA; as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Venusberg and Siegberg, Germany, Brigham & Women, Boston, USA; University of Bonn and University of Hasseldt, Belgium. She has a number of publications and research papers to her credit.

Dr. (Col) Manjinder Singh
MD, DNB, DM(Cardiology)
Medical Director and Director-Cardiology, Artemis Health Institute

Dr. (Col) Manjinder Singh Sandhu has graduated from Armed Forces Medical College in 1986. He did his MD (Medicine) from Pune University and DNB (Medicine) in 1993. He was awarded with the Gold medal for standing first in MD. He has done DM (Cardiology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2001.

He had a distinguished career in the Army Medical Corps and was last posted as Senior Adviser (Medicine and Cardiology) at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt and was also holding appointment of Addl. Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at Army College of Medical Sciences, Delhi Cantt. He has had the honor of being the accompanying Cardiologist to The President of India on tours. He is a fellow of American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.

He was re-designated as Medical Director and Director-Cardiology with affect from 1st April’ 2013 due to his consist efforts towards achieving the organizational goals. He was authorized with additional responsibility of patient & nursing care services. He also handles responsibility of Medical informatics and medical services with the COO.

 

Dr. Vishal Sehgal
MBBS, DNB, PGDHHM
Medical Superintendent And Head Emergency & Trauma Services, Artemis Health Institute
Dr. Vishal Sehgal has over sixteen years of experience in Healthcare - in Clinical Practice and Hospital Administration. He has been associated with Artemis Hospitals in various capacities, since the project stage of the hospital. Prior to joining Artemis, he was associated with Max Healthcare.
 
Dr. Sehgal did his graduation from Rabindranath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur and his DNB Orthopaedics training from DDU Hospital, New-Delhi. He also did his post graduation in hospital and healthcare management from Symbiosis University, Pune. He is a certified trainer in Adult and Paediatric Life Support Systems. He has been awarded the Scroll of Honour and the Distinguished Services Award, by the Delhi Medical Association (DMA).
 

Dr. Sehgal is an expert in the field of Trauma and Emergency Medical care. He has been involved in some very complex case management of mass casualties, polytrauma, cardiac and non-cardiac emergencies. He has an extensive experience in air evacuation (domestic and international) and road transportation of very complex cases. He has a special interest in Clinical Quality and has spearheaded the ISO, NABH and JCI accreditation programmes.

Dr. Sangeeta Sharma
MBBS, PGDHHM
Medical Superintendent, Artemis Health Institute
Dr (Lt Col) Sangeeta Sharma did her MBBS from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital & Health Management.

She has more than 24 years of rich experience in the Armed Forces working with the Army Medical Corps and has hands on experience in hospital administration as well as health care management in large hospitals.
